Unlike a lot of other heating and air companies who may use a cookie cutter type estimating process, John takes the extra time to design a system specific to your home and personal needs to ensure the best possible performance of your new system and comfort in your home. This process does take extra time but we assure you it is worth the extra day or two for the peace of mind that your heating and air conditioning system will work as expected or better.
John takes the extra time to design a system specific to your home and personal needs to ensure the best possible performance of your new system and comfort in your home.
First, he will measure your home and take notes on things like the type of insulation you have, window square footage, orientation of your home, to name a few and perform a room by room load calculation which will determine the size of unit your home requires, duct sizing, and number and size of venting for each room. He’ll then design a duct system ensuring each room of your home will be comfortable all year long. Next, he’ll work up an estimate with several options for you and explain the advantages of each one. Then, the ball is in your court to decide which one is right for you and your budget.
To get a better understanding of what we propose on your estimate, please review the information below to familiarize yourself with the different types of units. Keep in mind that not all types are an option for your particular situation and know that John will be providing you with the best solutions and options available for your application.
Packaged systems are all-in-one solutions, with most of the components for cooling and/or heating housed in a single cabinet usually mounted on the roof or on a slab beside the building. They can either be gas/electric and use natural gas or propane for heat, or a heat pump which is all electric and may or may not include heating equipment.
Split Systems have An indoor section and matching outdoor section which are connected by refrigerant tubing (hence the name "split"). The indoor section consists of a fan, indoor cooling coil, heating section, and filter while the outdoor section houses the compressor and condenser. Energy performance is similar to packaged rooftop systems with a bit more installation flexibility.
Packaged and split systems move air through ducts or chases located under the house, in the attic, and/or between levels. When ducting is not an option we offer ductless systems to suit your needs. While they work well where ducts are not an option, they also work well in most any application and are extremely energy efficient. Although the cost is a little more up front, the energy savings add up and it pays for itself in just a few years.
